Wellison José de Santana Gomes

Bio

Wellison Gomes is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil, since 2013. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Alagoas, in 2008, and received his MS and PhD degrees in Structural Engineering from University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2010 and 2013, after working under the supervision of professor Andre Beck. Part of his doctoral research was developed at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada, under professor Terje Haukaas’ supervision. Dr. Gomes conducts research on structural optimization under uncertainties, with emphasis on numerical methods.
