Marcos Lenzi

Bio

Prof. Marcos Lenzi holds a PhD degree (2014) at the Faculty of Engineering Science from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL), Leuven, Belgium. His PhD works evolved a partnership between LMS-Siemens (leader in acoustic simulations) and KUL, where numerical methods (applied to FEM & BEM) based on fast frequency approaches were developed – and incorporated at commercial software (Virtual Lab). Since February of 2017, Prof. Marcos Lenzi is affiliated with the Civil Engineering Department (EVC) at Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianópolis, Brazil, as an Assistant Professor. Recently, he joined the Center for Optimization and Reliability in Engineering (CORE) at ECV/UFSC. In a joint collaboration with the CORE group, Prof. Marcos has led research projects on numerical acceleration methods based on model order reduction (MOR) applied to structural dynamics problems, such as the ones under seismic excitation.

Research Area

Dynamics of structures, acoustics, model order reduction

Research Interests

Dynamics of structures, acoustics, model order reduction, modal analysis, multifrequency acceleration methods.
